This is a very delicous austrian recipe. It is a big pancake fried in the pan and then cut into small pieces. Enjoy your Kaiserschmarrn (sugared pancake).
For Kaiserschmarrn (Sugared pancake), seperate the eggs into 2 bowls. Add sugar and vanilla sugar to the egg yolk. Mix with a mixer until the mixture gets yellow and creamy. Fold in the milk and flour.
Beat the egg whites stiff and mix slowly with the other mixture, so the mass stays fluffy.
Melt the half of the butter in the frying pan. Pour in the half of the dough and fry on low heat until the underside is lightly brown. Then flip it over until both sides are done. Cut up the big pancake (as desired), bake out the other half of the dough, too and use the rest of the butter. Now arrange on plates.
Originally Kaiserschmarrn is served with stewed plums. But you also can eat it with applesauce, marmelade or whatever you like. Finally sprinkle everything with powdered sugar if you want. Bon appétit!
