German Fruit Flan

Ingredients:

  • cake
  • filling & fruits
  • glaze

step by step method

1. step 

Beat eggs, salt, sugar and vanilla sugar for 5 minutes in a bowl. Now combine flour and baking powder and melt the butter. (Let the butter cool down to lukewarm before adding.) Add the flour mixture and the butter to the batter. Mix in quickly and grease a tarte- or springform pan. Pour in the batter and bake at 150 degrees circulating air for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

After baking flip the cake out onto a cooling rack and let it cool down. Prepare the pudding and spread it evenly onto the cake. (Make sure that the pudding is still lukewarm, so it is easy to spread.)

3. step 

Now clean your fruits and arrange them on the cake. For the glaze you mix water and starch in a small sauce pan and let it simmer for one minute. Spread it on the fruits, works best with a little spoon. Chill the fruit flan until the glaze thickens and enjoy your cake!

tips & variations:

  • If the glaze already thickens, but you didn't finish yet. Don't worry, you can simply boil it up again.
